NEAR Explorer

Explore the NEAR blockchain directly through Zero. Look up wallet balances, view portfolio holdings, analyze transaction details, and track activity across NEAR Protocol accounts.

What Can You Explore?

Zero's NEAR Explorer integration provides comprehensive blockchain data access without leaving the search interface:

  • Wallet Balances: View NEAR and token balances for any account
  • Portfolio Holdings: See complete token holdings with USD values
  • NFT Collections: Browse NFTs owned by an account
  • Transaction History: Track recent activity and transaction details
  • Transaction Details: Deep-dive into specific transactions with action breakdowns
Free Feature: NEAR Explorer lookups are completely free and don't consume credits. Explore as much blockchain data as you want.

Looking Up Wallets

To view information about a NEAR wallet, simply search for the account name or address.

Supported Address Formats

Named Accounts:

text
alice.near
bob.near
treasury.ref-finance.near

Implicit Accounts (64-character hex addresses):

Intent Classification: Zero automatically detects NEAR addresses and routes your query to the Explorer. You can also be explicit with queries like "balance of alice.near" or "portfolio of bob.near".

What You'll See

When you look up a NEAR wallet, Zero displays:

  • NEAR Balance: Native NEAR token balance
  • Token Holdings: All fungible tokens held by the account with current USD values
  • Total Portfolio Value: Sum of all token holdings in USD
  • NFTs: NFT collections and individual NFTs owned
  • Recent Activity: Latest transactions involving the account

Example Wallet Queries

Balance of alice.near
Portfolio of bob.near
Holdings of treasury.ref-finance.near
alice.near

Transaction Lookups

View detailed information about any NEAR transaction by searching for its hash.

Transaction Hash Format

NEAR transaction hashes are base58-encoded strings, typically 43-44 characters long:

text
FkqMjCdYqEvR4xDXEvB8E81d9brCZAvwLKbizFiWqHmr
Automatic Detection: Paste a transaction hash into Zero's search bar and it will automatically recognize it and fetch transaction details.

Transaction Details

For each transaction, Zero shows:

  • Status: Success or failure
  • Block Height: Which block contains the transaction
  • Timestamp: When the transaction was executed
  • Signer: Account that initiated the transaction
  • Receiver: Account that received the transaction
  • Gas Used: Computational cost
  • Actions: Detailed breakdown of all actions in the transaction
  • Receipts: Cross-contract calls and their results
  • Logs: Event logs emitted during execution

Understanding Transaction Actions

NEAR transactions can contain multiple actions. Common action types include:

Transfer: Sending NEAR tokens

text
Transfer 10 NEAR to alice.near

Function Call: Invoking a smart contract method

text
Call ft_transfer on token.contract.near
Arguments: {"receiver_id": "alice.near", "amount": "1000000"}

Add Key: Adding access keys to an account

Delete Key: Removing access keys

Create Account: Creating a new NEAR account

Delete Account: Deleting an account and transferring remaining balance

Deploy Contract: Deploying smart contract code

Portfolio Analysis

Zero provides rich portfolio analytics for NEAR wallets beyond simple balance lookups.

Token Holdings Breakdown

For each token in a wallet, you'll see:

  • Token Symbol & Name: Identification
  • Balance: How many tokens are held
  • USD Value: Current market value in dollars
  • Contract Address: Token contract for verification
  • Price: Current price per token
Live Pricing: Portfolio values update in real-time based on current market prices for all supported tokens.

NFT Collections

View NFTs organized by collection with metadata including:

  • Collection name and contract
  • Individual NFT titles and IDs
  • Preview images (when available)

Privacy in Explorer Lookups

While blockchain data is inherently public, Zero adds privacy protections for your exploration activities:

  • No Query Logging: Zero doesn't store which wallets or transactions you look up
  • IP Protection: Your IP address isn't exposed to blockchain RPC providers
  • No Tracking: No analytics or behavioral profiling of your exploration patterns
  • Direct RPC Access: Queries route through Shadow Corp's NEAR RPC nodes, not third-party services
On-Chain vs Off-Chain Privacy: Blockchain data itself is public by design. Zero protects your off-chain privacy by preventing correlation between your identity, IP address, and the data you're viewing.

Data Accuracy and Sources

Zero's Explorer data comes from:

  • Shadow Corp NEAR RPC: Direct NEAR Protocol node access for real-time blockchain data
  • Shadow Corp Indexer: Enhanced indexing for fast portfolio and NFT lookups
  • Price Feeds: Real-time token prices for USD valuations
Data Refresh: Blockchain data updates in real-time. Portfolio values refresh based on current market prices every time you perform a lookup.

Common Use Cases

Monitor Your Own Wallet

Quickly check your NEAR balance, token holdings, and recent transactions without connecting your wallet.

Research Other Accounts

Analyze the portfolios of DAOs, protocols, or other users. See what tokens major accounts are holding.

Verify Transactions

Confirm that a transaction you sent or received executed successfully. Review the exact actions that occurred.

Track Protocol Treasuries

Monitor the holdings of protocol treasuries to understand their financial position and token allocations.

NFT Discovery

Browse NFT collections owned by specific accounts to discover new projects or verify NFT ownership.

Limitations and Known Issues

While Zero's NEAR Explorer is comprehensive, there are some limitations:

  • Token Price Coverage: USD values only available for tokens with market data. Unknown tokens show balance but not USD value.
  • NFT Metadata: Some NFTs may have incomplete metadata if the hosting is unreliable or contracts don't follow standards.
  • Historical Data: Explorer shows current state and recent history, not complete historical portfolio snapshots.
  • Cross-Chain Assets: Only NEAR-native assets are visible. Bridged assets from other chains are shown if they exist as NEAR tokens.
No Account Control: Looking up a wallet in the Explorer does NOT give you access to that account. This is read-only blockchain data viewing, not wallet control.

Combining Explorer with AI

Zero's AI can analyze Explorer data and provide insights. Try queries like:

text
Analyze the portfolio of alice.near
What tokens does ref-finance.near hold?
Explain this transaction: [tx-hash]
Compare the holdings of alice.near and bob.near

The AI will fetch the relevant blockchain data and provide analysis, explanations, or comparisons based on what you ask.

AI + Explorer: This combination is powerful for understanding blockchain activity. Ask the AI to explain complex transactions, compare portfolios, or identify patterns in account behavior.
